We had a little walnut tree planted about 6 years ago and this year we had our very first walnuts ! Although there's only two of them, it's a start , isn't it ?
Hi Trudette thats interesting I never knew that walnuts came inside green covering. And well done with love and hugs Shirleyxxxxxx Hope you enjoy them.
They are gorgeous, aren't they! Although we only have fig, pear and plum trees in our garden, our lovely neighbours in the village share baskets full of nuts around. Do enjoy, and here is to next year, all great things take a bit of time, but it is always worth the wait!
When you start getting a bigger crop, remember that walnuts make a great natural dye. You use the nut, green husks and all, I'm told. Boil it all up in a pot, strain it, and throw in some white fiber.
