Oregano in bloom

I enjoy caring for plants that give me something back-
in return for the love and care I give them-
like oregano .
They give me so much ,

everyday I have a little stroll through the garden
while cooking dinner,
and pick whatever herbs are useful for that particulair meal.

A handful of oregano plants will provide you with enough oregano
to use fresh in season and to dry for use throughout the winter.

But that is not all ,
the large clusters of pale purplish-pink flowers are attractive to the bees.

flowering herbs can be dazzling additions to any garden

and they attract the most wonderful insects,
which are much needed in any garden.

Beautiful photos, especially the one with the bee. Strolling through the garden morning, noon and night is such a pleasure. Everything changes continually, don't you think?

De bij maak je er blij mee, zo'n belangrijke schakel in de natuur. I love the combination of the purple of the flowers and the bee busily doing his work. Groet uit Penrhyndeudraeth

My grandad planted the same herbs in his garden for years - Oregano, cilantro, basil, and others. Now they've been there so long they've become a ground cover! So as you stroll through the garden, watering or picking things or whatever, the scent of the crushed herbs fills the air. It's very magical.
